The United Kingdom Stem Cell Bank (UKSCB) is located at the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. It is funded by the Medical Research Council and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council to provide a repository for human stem cell lines of all types, and has been developed to supply well characterised cell lines under appropriate and accredited quality systems both for basic research and for the development of clinical applications. The first fully-characterised stem cell lines are now available for distribution upon request and further details are available through the UKSCB website.
The UKNSCN is able to help with a number of basic enquiries concerning the UK Stem Cell Bank and has an arrangement with the Bank whereby the Bank is able to utilise this part of the National Network’s website to advertise its developing services. If you have more detailed enquiries concerning the nature of available cell lines and their cost, you should contact the Bank directly using the following E-mail address: enquiries@ukstemcellbank.org.uk
